Music can be an inspirational tool for those that know how to use it. It is one of the oldest forms of communication in the world. In our present time we see the many different types of music on the market. Each different type of music can be influential in different ways. Some can sooth while others are uplifting. My music of choice is classified as electronic and breaks down into many subgroups or genres. .
Each genre has a distinctive characteristic that can be easily noticed by an avid listener. When you listen to a certain song the elements in that song stand out, especially the rhythm, and that is the basic foundation for understanding what genre the song falls into. Understanding about the different genres of electronic music is important, for example if you wanted to be a DJ that mixes well you would not want to spin break beat with jungle. .
A DJ that has been around for years and has produced many hit tracks is Paul Okenfold. He has been labeled as the number one DJ in world; this takes place annually in magazines and other articles, many times over. If you are into electronic music there is a very good chance you have heard his songs and if you are a TV watcher there is a good chance you have heard a clip of one through some sort of advertisement or TV show. The genre that he has specialized in for many years is labeled as trance. It gets its name from the mood it puts you in. When listening to this type of music your mind seems to space away from your body and you are put into a state of deep relaxation, at least that is how it is for myself. One of my favorite songs that he produced is actually a remix of a U2 song called "Elevation". Using the technology available today it is easily possible to take words from other songs and incorporate them into a whole new song with different elements and rhythms.
