Homosexuals - Born This Way

As the Supreme Court declared, same-sex marriage has been legalized nationwide. However, gay marriage remains one of the top political issues in the U.S.A. While people are arguing about the validity of the decision, have we ever thought about the formation of such sexual orientation? One of the main theories that explain the causes of homosexuality states that homosexuality is actually caused by biological factors, which means people are "born gay." The other theory is that homosexuality develops as a result of environmental influences. Public comments show that the latter theory has been disappearing and the prior one is gaining credit these days. People discover the essence of one thing by starting figure to the cause of it. Is homosexuality genetic or environmental? .
Researcher Sergey Gavrilet(2012) at the National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis said, "It's not genetics. It's not DNA. It's not pieces of DNA. It's epigenetics. The hypothesis we put forward is based on epigenetic marks" (Gavrilet). The definition of epigene is basically a temporary button that controls how human genes are expressed during pregnancy and after birth (Rice). These researches indicate that homosexuality is hidden in the gene and when something happens as a catalyst, epigene, which is like a switch, turns on the homosexuality expression. Epigene is very magical. To make it easier to understand, just imagine that genes are like a direction guidebook, and epigene determines when and where to carry out the direction. Epigene can be motivated by family influences, sexual assault and cultural issues.
First of all, the family is one of the driving forces. Psychologists Linda Ames Nicolosi who believe in Sigmund Freud explain the pressure and tension people feel in their childhood, especially with an overly protective mother and a weak, defensive father, which can cause them to become homosexual people (Nicolosi).
