My Job Shadowing Experience

            My job shadow experience was a great opportunity for me to see what the job a car mechanic is at the home town auto here in Lyons. My job shadow site was the owner of the home town auto Mr. Williams and he assigns and observe job for the mechanics that from repairs machines that break down to oil changes if needed. Mr. Williams work 40 hours a week and wouldn't want more hours a week because if he did he would have time to spend with his family. .
             Mr. Williams would just walk around and check on machines that were around his area and make sure they were working properly and would sit at the front desk where customers come in and tells him what is wrong with their car and he call other shops and uses the internet to find parts to fix the car and to determine what the cost would be to fix it witch includes the labor. Mr. Williams doesn't not receive any job benefits and have only one job and gets paid about $75,000 a year. .
             What I liked best about my job shadowing experience was seeing others workers repair the machines and making it look easy. What I liked least about my job shadowing experience was seeing him do all the work and not being able to help out. What surprised me the most about this experience was how he knew what the problem was to any machine; even if it was sometimes hard he would eventually get the job done even if he has to look it up he would help and find the best deals and a way to fix the problem. The environment was calm and at their own pace, it was I wouldn't seeing myself doing this for 40 hours a week because it's not my thing to do although I like to fix things it wouldn't be what I'll be doing for the rest of my life. While I was shadowing everyone was friendly and I met many people that have gone to Lyons and have graduated and told me what have changed since they went to the school. If more time was allotted, some job skills or additional job shadowing that I would have liked to experience is to shadow someone that work in a restaurant being because I like to cook and I would think that it would be the career that I could do for 40 hours a week.
