This chapter of the sequel didn't have a lot of adventure scenes because there was no space for adventure as Harrison ford just got older and by the time he did the movie he was already sixty-six years old. Hence this changed the whole concept of Indiana Jones, as the Indiana Jones franchise was always known to be an expedition movie filled with adventures. "Indiana Jones movies were always journey movies, but even that is lost as Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull focuses primarily on two sprawling complexes, the Area 51 complex and the lost city and the area around it. There's no real adventure because there's hardly any room for adventure," (Ramblings, 2008 – Page 2).
In this episode of the franchise there were a lot of special effects and CGI processed shots. I think there were lots of CGI shots that were totally pointless and not needed, one of these scenes is just as I mentioned above when Mutt was monkey-swinging through the jungle. This scene was totally unnecessary as it got the most negative comments throughout the whole movie. I believe that Shia LaBeouf downgraded or underestimated himself by just thinking of doing this scene. Shia LaBeouf even said that he didn't do this part of the movie correct and blamed himself before blaming Steven Spielberg. "You get to monkey-swinging and things like that and you can blame it on the writer and you can blame it on Steven [Spielberg, who directed]. But the actor's job is to make it come alive and make it work, and I couldn't do it. So that's my fault. Simple," (Gaines, 2008 – Page 1). The problem is that almost everything in the movie was made out of CGI there were CG dogs, CG monkeys, CG ants, CG aliens. You can say that everything you saw except the characters and buildings are made by CGI. One of the other scenes I had mixed feelings about was when the man eating ants showed up and started to eat the Russian soldiers.
