The Kurds and the Middle East

Then there are bound morphemes that need to be on a word to have meaning. An example of a bound morpheme would be –Ji or 're' in English because it has no meaning by itself but on a word it makes the word have a greater meaning. An example of a free morpheme is lep or hand in English because it has meaning by itself and on a word. .
The last piece is syntax. Syntaxing is how the words are ordered. In English our sentences are formed in the order of subject, verb, and object. In the Kurdish language it goes object, subject, verb. So instead of saying mom feed me, they say 'مۆم فييد ميى' which directly translates to mom me feed.
The Kurdish language is from the Indo-European language family then goes into the Indo-Iranian branch then to the Iranian branch then to the western branch then the northwestern branch. Linguistic change is when a language undergoes change due to internal and external factors due to new inventions and how complex the society is and if the speakers of the language are divided by natural borders or not. If the society gets new inventions then they need to make words to describe the objects. If the society is more or less complex they will have a larger or smaller lexicon with more or less specific words. If the society is separated by natural borders the language will have dialects due to separation. A dialect is a version of a language that has been changed and is specific to a certain region and is often used to identify where someone is from. The Kurds have been subjected to international borders and they do not have their own state to do as they please. This being said, most Kurds are bilingual speaking the language of the place that they are in and the Kurdish language. They have assimilated to the culture of other places. For example in Turkey, it was illegal until the early 1990's to speak Kurdish anywhere except your house, even now it is strictly monitored and not able to be on the news or taught in schools.
