September 11th, 2001

            September 11th, 2001 .
September 11th, 2001 was without a doubt, the worst attack on American soil in U.S. history. Ever since the attack on Pearl Harbor, almost sixty years earlier, no one could have ever predicted that there would have been another tragic attack against the United States. The United States is one of, if not the most powerful nation on the planet, we have everything under control, nobody can touch us. On that September morning, we sure didn't have anything under control, we in fact could have done nothing to stop it. .
The morning of September 11th, 2001, was as normal as any other morning on any other day. I woke up, took a shower, got dressed, and went to school. I was a junior in high school at the time and school was the last thing I wanted to do that early in the morning. Still half asleep I manage to go to my locker and go to my first period class. Couple periods go by and its time to go to homeroom. I"m sitting in homeroom and my homeroom teacher is taking attendance and everyone is talking and being loud, like always. We had this EHT-TV show that we always watched in homeroom, the anchors on the show would talk about changes in the school, announcements, clubs, and those sorts of things. While I"m trying to get some sleep, the anchors on TV started talking about a accident involving a plane in New York. I looked up at the TV and they showed the footage of the plane crashing into one of the World Trade Center buildings. Everyone at the time thought that it was a accident and that a plane had accidentally crashed into a building. I thought to myself "that's insane, how could a plane accidentally crash into a building, it must have been coming in for a landing at a airport and gotten off course and hit a building. It still didn't make sense." The bell rang and I left homeroom putting the plane crash in the back of my head and started to head for my next class.
