Louis Farrakhan


            Louis Farrakhan is the reason for the growth and development of Islam in America. The nation of Islam stared in 1930 by Master Fard Muhammad and led from 1934 to 1975 by Elijah Muhammad.
             Louis first love has been Music, but after three months into Islam, Elijah said that all Muslims have to stop show business or get out of the temple. Many musicians left, but Louis was dedicated to stay. He then moved to Boston, where he proved himself as a capable and dedicated and eventually, he rose to the rank of Minister. Her worked as the Minister of Muhammad temple in 1956. .
             In 1975 Elijah Muhammad died and his son was chosen to be the leader by the Black Muslims. Louis didn't agree with the teachings of the new leader, so he left the group in 1977. Later, in the same year Louis came back, and became the leader of the Nation of Islam.
             Mosques and study groups in over 80 cities in America, Great Britain show Louis success, and a mission in Ghana dedicated to the teachings of Elijah Muhammad who was believed to be a prophet, who thought him about the Islam religion. In October of 1994, Louis Farrakhan led 2000 blacks from American to Accra, Ghana for the Nation's first International Savior's Day. .
             The Nation of Islam is based on peace, so they don't believe in carrying guns to make war because they believe war is against the nature of the righteous. In the Nation of Islam they are trained to be a good example to their community. The news media and some community leaders always been negative about Louis teaching on Islam, but so far he has shown them nothing, but the opposite about Islam. The nation of Islam brought peace among gangs and they were also successful at fighting illegal drug trade. In 1996, Farrakhan made a 20-nation world peace agreement among different countries. He got prostate cancer in 1999 that kept him out of the public eye for the most of the year. But February 2000 he came back to the public stage and quit fighting with his rival Warith Deen Mohammed.
