Should we pay to student athletics...?

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is an organization that establishes rules for intercollegiate competitions. The NCAA is the only organization in the market that holds a monopoly on student athletics. Moreover, the purpose of the NCAA is good because it helps gifted students to develop their talents, while providing them with education in elite schools. Although the NCAA is essentially a league of amateurs, who do not get paid, it is at the same time a multi-billion dollar industry - largely due to television contracts and merchants sales. Thus, people are concerned about the NCAA: "is it a business or a part of educational process?" (Kaufman). Since this big amount of money, problems like cheating, scandals, upset athletes or frauds as well as academic improprieties are inevitable (Kaufman). .
Now the NCAA is facing two radical visions: some college coaches are trying to make the NCAA pay student athletics, therefore giving them a share of multi-billion dollar industry. On the other end are people who want to abolish even scholarships, because maybe this is the only way to stop this corruption. However, in my opinion all students should be treated equally; talented students in all fields should receive scholarships to develop their talents, but not salary. Thus, college athletic programs should remain the same. .
First of all, talented student athletes receive a scholarship, which covers tuition, books, food and monthly spending, as well as school privileges like free tutors, computer lab, priority to register for classes, free dentist and optometrist services. Moreover, student athletes gets full clothes, shoes, bags and more for free, which is worth a few hundred dollars per athlete. Therefore the scholarship is like a payment for what they are doing and is enough compensation. Thus, athletes should not get paid on top of that, since it would be unfair to the rest of the students, who are not in a football or basketball teams.
