Consequences of Failing A College Course

The Consequences of Failing A College Course.
There are many reasons a person fails a college course, but, when someone does fail, the consequences could be overwhelming. Failing a college course could have lasting effects on the rest of a persons college career. Someone who fails a college course could lose their financial aid, their grade point average would be effected negatively, and worse yet, the embarrassment and humiliation of flunking the class. Just receiving a failing grade in one class could lead to disastrous results.
First, take a look at losing financial aid for college. This result could lead to a person having to pay for college him or herself. Sometimes a person could be experiencing financial difficulties and would not be able to afford the high cost of a college education, so financial aid is very important. If someone loses financial aid due to failing a course, that person would have to go through the hassle of filing an appeal to the Dean of Student Services. This could be embarrassing in itself because a person has to reveal things about their life that he or she would consider to be private. And then a person would also have to look at the possibility that their appeal could be denied.
A second result of a failing grade in a college course would be the negative effect on a persons grade point average. This could also effect financial aid because many grants and scholarships are based on a high GPA. Just one failing grade could last a person all through their college career. For example, take a look at when a person goes to graduate and they did not make the deans list because of an F in their math course three years before. Another thing about that F is when an instructor posts that grade for all to see, and the person who got the F will know that all of their classmates had seen it.
And this brings up the point of the embarrassment one would feel when their family finds out about the failing grade.
