Teenage Responsibility


             As people grow older their roles and responsibilities grow also. Where leaving the adolescent years behind embarks a person on a journey of self-discovery and independence. The teenage years are a time for learning and recognizing their responsibilities so they can grow into a successful adult. Though teenagers do not have the same responsibilities as adults, they do have some very important ones.
             Teenagers play an integral role in the family. One of which is to provide love and support to their parents. Loving and respecting their parent's decisions will make the family function better. Giving emotional support to other family members is another responsibility of a teenager. This support can influence members to strive for the best and help them become better people. Also, a teenager's responsibilities include doing chores around the house. As a member of the family a teen should do their part in housekeeping since they live in the house too. Not only do young people have these responsibilities, but they are also responsible to their communities. .
             In order to become a viable part of society, teenagers learn to be good citizens. In order to do this, one must learn about the government. By educating teenagers about the world and government, they will be better prepared to step up and be the next generation of officeholders in government. Teenagers should also participate in community activities. Projects to help better and clean the world should be a major goal a teenager should strive for. Community activities will also instill work ethic in teenagers that will help during adulthood. Teenagers must also start deciding and taking a stand on social issues this helps prepare them for tough decisions they may face as adults. Teens need to prepare themselves to take their places in society; therefore, they need to work on becoming strong adults.
             The most important responsibility a teenager has is the one to himself.
