The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

I have seen my share of the good, the bad, and the ugly. Well the good? Consistent championship football programs starting from age six. Not to forget the bad, similar to minor situations such as headaches to the common cold. Unfortunately, I had to experience the ugly. But this particular time was horrendous. This unusual time was concerning the health of me and my future as a ball player. A broken right ankle and a spiral fracture is what they told me. .
I was expected to be a substantial ingredient to an undefeated season and was highly recruited by Division 1-A universities/colleges as a junior, before this pain and agony arose on me. I had gained a great deal of knowledge through tapes of Hall of Fame football players, essential technique training, daily workouts, college combines, passing league games, and a group of highly educated coaches, who have either played professional or collegiate football. As far back memory serves, this gruesome event took place at Friendly High School on the football practice field. During football practice, we were going over a play. I was designated to block the middle linebacker, standing about six feet, three inches tall, weighing two hundred and forty five pounds. Once I got in position to block the middle linebacker, a "fat boy" as we call offensive/defensive linemen rolled on the inside of my ankle and I fell onto the defensive linemen, breaking my right ankle. .
I never noticed the pain until one of my teammates told me, "Your ankle doesn't look too good!" From the practice field, I was immediately sent to Fort Washington Hospital. There I was cut out of everything from the waist down, hooked up to machines, and put under the influence of medications. The doctor straightens my ankle to put in a temporary cast for two days until my surgery date at Holy Cross Hospital.
The night of when I broke my ankle was the most excruciating experience I have ever encountered.
