Chocolate War Report

Archie pretends that he has no idea what Leon is talking about because no one ever mentions the Vigils out loud, yet everyone knows they are there. Leon wants Archie to be the person behind the chocolate sale. Archie agrees.
             A few days later, Leon asks each boy who has him for a homeroom teacher if they will sell chocolates. He said it was voluntary and then he starts asking each in alphabetical order if they will sell. Everyone said yes but Jerry. Leon was secretly disappointed and the others couldn't believe their ears. A boy refused to sell the chocolates. None of them even thought they could do such a thing. Jerry was only saying no because the Vigils made that an assignment for him. To not sell chocolates for the first ten days.
             The next morning along with role call, Leon asked each boy how many boxes of chocolates that they had sold. Every one but Jerry sold some.
             At football practice, Jerry made a perfect pass to Goober when the freshmen played against the seniors. Goober scored.
             In Leon's class the following morning, he made Bailey come up to the front of the class and explain his strait A's. Leon was testing him and accused him of cheating. Finally after a student said, "Leave the poor guy alone." Leon stopped and let Bailey go.
             Goober's assignment turned out to be loosening every bolt in Room Nineteen. The Vigils told Goober that the room would be empty on Monday. Even the janitor was off. He would have to bring a screwdriver and loosen everything so it was just about ready to fall apart. .
             Goober went in there on Monday afternoon and started. He felt really bad about doing it but he knew that Archie and The Vigils would hurt him if he didn't follow his assignment. At about 11:00pm, a masked person came into the classroom to help. It was Obie, but Goober didn't know that. They finished after three hours and went home.
             The next morning, Archie waited by Room Nineteen's door and listened.
