On the way to the town, King Harold was just swiftly picking up people as he was on his way. King Harold and his army defeated King Hardrada. Construction of the invasion had been completed in July. But this was not the end.
Now it was time for William the Conqueror. William was actually the blood heir of King Edward. They were cousins, and Edward had agreed to have him be crowned. Harold and William had made a pact in 1064, that William would be King when Edward died. The only thing is, that no one knew nothing about it. When William heard that no one had known of the pact, he sent a letter to Harold reminding him of his oath. Harold sent a letter in return, refusing to give him the throne. When William got the letter he planned to invade England, and destroy Harold. William had the support of the Pope who excommunicated Harold consigning him and supporters to an eternity in hell. Through Williams's eyes, Harold defied the wishes of Edward and violated an sacred oath. William had only one problem, he could not set sail because of the wind. He had to wait until the wind blew the other way. The result of his invasion would change England forever.
It was finally time. The wind had changed and William was ready to set sail. When Harold heard of the landing in the South by William, he immediately left. Harold's younger brother tried to tell him no, that there was no need to attack. He did not want Harold to fight. This was no time to risk the King and the Kingdom, but Harold wouldn't have it. He was well known for his surprise strikes. That was how he defeated the Vikings from the North and that was the way he planned to defeat William and him army. Harold and army entered London on October 5, 1066. They had good news, that the Norman's were still between Hastings and Pevensy. By October 10, he felt ready to battle. Harold set out October 11, with a certain point at mind called Senlac.
