Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (R) was the first Khalifah of Rasulullah (S). He was Rasulullah's (S) closest and best friend ever .He was also Muhammed's father-in law. He was two years younger then Rasulullah (S). "No one has been a better companion to me than Abu Bakr," The Prophet used to say. Abu Bakr (R) helped Rasulullah (S) in his last years of Prophethood and Farewell pilgrimage, and in the difficult path of Hijrah. His only ambition was to serve the Prophet more than anyone else; and that was true. Abu Bakr (R) was always there for Rasulullah (S).
For many years, Abu Bakr (R) was know for good and upright nature. He was extremely honest and truthful and was from a noble family. He would always do the right and the best thing. Abu Bakr (R) was to become the strongest supporter ever in Mankind. He started to believe of so much that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) did, so Abu Bakr (R) converted into a Muslim, and was the first male adult ever to convert into Islam. He became a terrific Muslim. Once the Prophet Muhammed (SAW) himself remarked, "I called people to Islam. Everybody thought over it, at least for a while. But this was not the case with Abu Bakr. The moment I put Islam before him, he accepted it without any hesitation." When Abu Bakr (R) became a Muslim, he tried to teach others about Islam too, as Prophet Muhammed (SAW) always did. Abu Bakr (R) would go with Prophet Muhammed (SAW) to help him wherever he went for his mission. They both fought battles together, spread Islam, as well as many other things.
Years later in Farewell pilgrimage, The most help ever to Prophet Muhammed (SAW) came from Abu Bakr (R). As usual, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to lead daily prayers, but this time Abu Bakr lead the prayers since the Prophet was sick. It was an indication leading to Ummah. Soon the time came. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) had passed away in the 12th of Rabi?Al-Awwal, 11th Hijrah year (June 8th 632 CE).
