U.S. and Pacific relations

The United States and Pacific relations have been sustained at a steady pace of no change over the past decades. The U.S. has made sure to specifically keep Taiwan and China from any change. Even though Taiwan wants to be its own separate country, the U.S. has to make sure to keep China happy by not allowing that to happen. If Taiwan fights for independence it would most definitely be an all out war. The U.S. have to deal with a very sensitive issue when dealing with the pacific, for example. The U.S. embassy is stationed in Taiwan rather than China, which in turn has caused China to make into a problem. The U.S. then had to make sure tensions were lessoned by stationing embassy check points located in China. The U.S. must make sure to make adequate diplomatic policies when dealing with China and Taiwan. .
The United States and North Korea have been the longest standing adversary's . Recent steps to keep North Korea's WMD under control have been difficult. From 1994, when North Korea agreed to dismantle its nuclear program with the U.S. in return supplying them with 5 billion dollars worth of fuel oil. Along with this the United States, Japan, and South Korea agreed to build two light-water nuclear reactors, which cannot be used to make plutonium. Only four years after the nuclear accord was the suspecting of North Korea again developing a new nuclear facility. Shortly after this was spotted the North Koreans test launched two-stage ballistic missile capable of reaching such distances as (950 miles) Japan. In November, 1998 the U.S. asks to inspect facility near Yongbyon. They then only demanded 300 million dollars for inspection, which the U.S. rejected. Since post-World War II times, North Korea has been seen to have corrupt and dangerous intentions. The fear only grows stronger as they now have WMD capabilities. A possible use for WMD capabilities might be for blackmail. As North Korea's resources are reaching an all time low, and their import and exporting practically does not even exist, it would be no surprise that their intentions would be to either sell capabilities, or use to receive blackmail money.
