War on Iraq

For the past two years the United States have been a fighting a war against Iraq. We have captured those who had plotted and planned the original attack on our country and their leaders. Over the years the support provided by the nation has decreased. People are realizing how taxing the war has been on our country. We have lost fathers, brothers, and sons. Now our leader wants eighty seven billion dollars to continue. The war should not be supported. Not only are we fighting the people who attacked us, but we are also fighting the battles for other countries. The war needs to stop, people need their families intact, and we need to open our eyes and realize how far this has gone. .
When President George Bush declared war on Iraq the people of this country were behind him. We hung flags outside our doors, wore yellow ribbons on our cars, we even plastered them on our trees in our towns. The country unified to show our support and strength for those overseas, thus showing our support for the war. As the time has gone by the flags are less frequent, as are the ribbons. There are fewer rallies to show our support. Although the people in office are trying to make what has happened sound justified and reasonable some people can see through the charade. After George Bush declared war his ratings were up, people approved of him and what he was doing; now it is decreasing along with the support of the war. It is a perfect negative correlation. As the approval of the war ebbs, the approval of the man encouraging it is going to decrease.

A few weeks ago Bush told the country that he wanted eighty seven billion dollars to turn around another country. He wants to provide them with hospitals and better schooling which is admirable. Although, why are we not fixing our own country first? There are still plenty of places in the United States that need the same treatment, and because of what is going on over seas, those places have to come in second.
