Here Niccolo received his education on practical political affairs. By discovering his love for the militia, and recognizing early his devotion to defend the city, he took charge of hiring mercenaries to defend his city. Machiavelli worked hard for the government by using powerful negotiations with many foreign leaders to assist his city. Acquiring adequate education from his earlier years, Machiavelli was able to serve his city and government as a better diplomat. Later, he earned the position of organizing and training Florentine militias. .
Although, his influent family established his government position, Niccolo devoted all his energy to his career in politics. His passion escaped through letters he wrote describing three political events, the expulsion of the Medici family, the rise of Savanrola and the major project of diverting the Arno River. Because he wrote well and critically analyze these controversial issues, these letters inform us of his opinion on political justice as well as injustice. .
My second reason that inspired Machiavelli to write The Prince, promises to benefit future rulers on how to rule more effectively. As a government diplomat, Niccolo not only observed but also learn from events that occurred around the intervention of a ruler. He began to carefully consider the reasons why rulers both succeeded and fail. When he discovered meaningful ways of becoming more of a power ruler, he wrote in great detail what qualities an effective ruler must have under their principalities, and how past historical events amplify qualities into man's morality. .
In my opinion, the reader needs to question why Machiavelli saw the past as a stating point for future rulers. Desperately showing his efforts in finding a remedy for the miserable condition into which his city had fallen, Machiavelli bases the city's failure on past ruler's ruthless decisions. It is important for us to learn from the mistakes from the past because it provides lessons for the future.
