Julius Caesar

Throughout act one of the play, Julius Caesar, we see a lot of conspiracy between Cassius and Brutus about Julius Caesar. Cassius is a twisted, mean person who enjoys hurting other people's feelings. Brutus on the other hand, is a well-respected, judicial magistrate of Rome who is persuaded by Cassius to join the conspiracy against Caesar.
At the beginning of act one we observe that Brutus is hiding something but will not tell Cassius what it is that is bothering him. Cassius tries to get it out of Brutus and finally he does. "I do fear the people/ Choose Caesar for their king". Brutus fears that if Caesar takes the crown of Rome, he will turn into a tyrant and enslave the people. From then on goes on at Brutus saying how he should be there instead of Caesar. "Why should that name be sounded more than yours?" Cassius also uses petty excuses to get Brutus on his side. He begins to tell a story of how he saved Caesar's life and how he's so ungrateful. "And now this man/ Is now become a god?" Cassius is a very jealous man as he does not want Caesar to do with anything involving Rome. Unfortunately Brutus did not c what Cassius was up to and falls directly into his trap.
Caesar shows some vulnerability in act one. Caesar is a very superstitious person which shows that he is in fact just a normal human being living a normal life but has a few weak points. Caesar is also deaf in one ear which makes him even more vulnerable. Although Caesar is physically vulnerable he is very strong-minded. Caesar is not a senseless and knows there is something suspicious about Cassius but does not do anything about his suspicions.
Soon enough Cassius gets what he wanted; Brutus is entirely against Caesar which contradicts what he said earlier, that he loved Caesar. This is what effect Cassius" manipulation has on people- they begin to forget there own thoughts and feelings and believe whatever Cassius tells them.
