Romeo and juliet

Romeo and Juliet is a play with many themes like love, death, friendship, revenge and honour. Before Act 3 Scene 1 we have two very important events, the party is one where Romeo gatecrashes the party and Tybalt vows revenge "patience perforce with wilful choler meeting makes my flesh tremble in their different greeting! I will withdraw but this intrusion shall now seeming sweet convert to bitt"rest gall". The marriage between Romeo and Juliet is the second event that affects Act 3 Scene 1 Romeo feels that as he is married to Juliet he should not hate the Capulets.
The play has a lack of stage directions which means the director will have a lot of freedom to interpret the as he sees fit. Luhrmann does this by setting his play in modern Verona with gun battles and Hollywood actors, however zefirelli's version is very old and set in the time the text comes from. My version will be set in modern London between two rival estates who have despised each other for years. .
The confrontation will be set on a football pitch in between the two estates. When staging the scene where there is the confrontation between Mercutio an Tybalt, I would like the actor playing Mercutio to be smug and smart giving the impression that he is not intimidated by Tybalt also I will have the actor playing Tybalt to be very serious with no sense of humour. When Romeo enters he will be very happy for the reason that he has just married Juliet, as soon as Tybalt sees Romeo he will a distinct glare and will say the line "well peace be with you, sir, here comes my man", With a smile on his face. As Romeo says, "be satisfied" at this moment put his hand on Mercutio, with Mercutio brushing it away promptly, Tybalt and Mercutio will both look shocked at what they are hearing and Mercutio will step in between saying his lines with humour. The reason for Romeo's peace here is that he feels he is apart of Tybalt's family as he is married to Juliet, the audience knows why Romeo wants peace but the characters don't which is where dramatic irony comes into it.
