Prejudice

There are many different ways to define just what hate and prejudice means. In the dictionary hate is defined as "to feel hostility or animosity toward." The word hate is almost as bad as a swear word is, if you use the word hate in a sentence such as I hate you. Being told I hate you is a sickening feeling it brings you down. Hate to me is the root of all evil. Just think of all the terrible things that has happened through out history because of hate. Prejudice is defined in the dictionary as "An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts." To me in my own words means to judge somebody before you really even get to know them. To even better understand that I think of a popular saying I have heard throughout my life "To judge a book by its cover." I am very sad to say that even I have done that before. In my essay I will be explaining the hate and prejudice I have come across in my own lifetime.
My own personal account of hate/prejudice took place last year in a soccer tournament I played down in limorre. It was the second of my games and there was a lot of talking and pushing going on through out the game. The team we were facing were all Mexican and most talked Spanish. My team is mixed with some white and some Mexican. The end of the game was approaching and we were winning two to one. The whistle blew and we won, but right after the game there was pushing and shoving, and before I even knew it I was tackled onto the ground and being punched. It was the teams goalie he was hitting me and at the same time calling me a very degrading word a "cracker" The best I could do was shield myself till luckily a teammate of mine pulled him off. After everything was said and done the goalie and two of there players were suspended. I was happy they were being punished for what they had done, soon though my happiness turned into anger after I heard I also was being suspended from the rest of the tournament games 4 fighting, when I was the victim.
