On September 23, 1949, Bruce Springsteen grew up in a normal, middle class family in the small town of Freehold, New Jersey. Bruce Springsteen grew up next door to a gas station in a poor section of Freehold known as "Texas." Springsteen was a lonely, awkward, and introverted child. He did poorly at the parochial schools he attended, and his only real enthusiasm was for Elvis Presley and the rock music of the 1950's. This shy kid from Jersey would teach himself the guitar implementing a new sense of personal identity. Springsteen would never look back as "Rock and Roll" provided the stepping stone in creating a future musical genius. .
Springsteen started his musical prowess in high school playing for local bars and clubs with his band, The Castiles. This new found glory for musical greatness would help propel Springsteen to devote his whole life toward "Rock and Roll." At a young age Springsteen best demonstrated a hungry heart by practicing long into the night hoping for stardom. Springsteen's early endeavors with numerous bands like Child, Steel Mill, Dr. Zoom, Sonic Boom, and the Bruce Springsteen Band created the foundation. His devotion paid of as Springsteen signed with Columbia Records after a stellar audition in New York in 1972. After the audition Springsteen would reorganize his band of musicians proclaiming the title E. Street Band. This particular band would stick with Springsteen throughout his multiplatium career. Springsteen would excel in all facets of musical talent by displaying the leather jacket "macho sensitive" persona. His record label wanted to market him as the "new Dylan" playing an acoustic guitar best representing an urban message. Instead Springsteen would make inspirational music on his own terms becoming the "Rambo"of Rock. For example, Springsteen would touch base on controversial topics affecting the moral of your average working man. Bruce challenged bankers, political leaders, and businessmen for small changing your average worker.
