Music: The effects on people

The stories told in songs .
by rappers and rockers is there life not the life of the kid that sits in his or her room listening to the songs. "It has been customary for those who create and derive profit from music trumpeting hatred violence to say they are merely "mirroring the conditions around that exists around them- (Popular Par. Four). That is there personal life not anybody else's. People these days' put their problems on the musicians that they adore and listen to. A few years ago and boy committed suicide and left the song "Adams Song- by Blink 182 play as he killed himself. The parents heard the lyrics and blamed Blink 182 for encouraging suicide when the song is about getting over depression and that you have more to look for than what is happening now. If an actor breaks his leg after someone says, "break a leg- to him or her does the actor sues them. No, it .
             .
is just a saying. There must be a double standard for sayings these days. Someone can say something that sounds bad but can mean something totally different. This is one reason why people can not blame the music they listen to.
Even blues music they talk about the good and the bad times but blues is a great form of music not something that makes you think of bad times it brings you out of the bad times(Bauer, music). The people that listen to this kind of music realize that. But can u blame B.B. King for causing a kids death for singing the blues. No because it is not meant for that. Same as many songs that deal with suicide they are not encouraging they are addressing the problem. So when Rapper Eminem goes and says, "I just killed my wife you should to- that is just what he is going through not like he would really do that but it is what he is thinking at the time. So if someone goes out and kills there spouse does that mean that Eminem is to blame? No the person that killed someone is(Nelson).
