NO TELEVISION

Television is one of the worst inventions of this century. The amount of time people could be spending; doing so many other things is being wasted watching television. Almost every channel displays images that are harmful, yet attractive to our minds. Television can also become very expensive. Yet, just about everyone single person I know continues to keep his or her eyes glued to this repulsive contraption.
There are many other ways people can occupy their time besides watching television. People are always complaining about how they never have enough time to get anything done, but you know they usually do. Most of them probably had the time to watch a couple hours of television the night before. Instead, they could have been doing something productive! The truth is the majority of people don't want to do the things they say they don't have time for. For example, they could be cleaning the house, giving the dog a bath, doing laundry, paying bills, exercising, doing homework, and so on. They all know there are a number of productive things they could be doing; however, they simply don't want to. They think it is so much easier to sit in a reclining chair and watch their favorite television shows. However, in the long run they have made it harder because they will end up having to do all of those things in one big load. What people need to do is start leading more productive lives. I don't think that is possible unless they shut off the television. Although, this can be very difficult because of what is displayed on almost every channel. .

Just about every channel displays images that are harmful, yet attractive to our minds. A lot of people don't think anything of it when their children are watching cartoons with settle sexual innuendoes and violence. However, if they did think about it they would probably start to notice their children imitating those cartoons. When we grow up watching television the sex and violence does seem to effect our minds.
