Humans made on an assembly line? That's where today's technology is leading us. Advancements in science are now allowing scientist to make copies of cells, allowing them to create a living copy of a living being. They have identical genetic makeup, and physical traits, this is cloning. In Brave New World cloning is used to mainly done for one thing, social stability. People are cloned repeatedly, to be in the same social class, and to work similar jobs. In today's world cloning is a hot subject. Some people believe that it is going to help advance society; others think that it will only destroy individualism and humanity itself. There is too much at stake, when it comes to cloning and this scientific advancement should not be aloud to be tested on human and animals. .
If cloning was allowed to be done in a mass-produced way, society would become dependent on clones. Clones that are produced for a single purpose, would make people depend on them for a single purpose, even though it is still a human being. In Brave New World clones were made to do one thing, and that is work. "Ninety-six identical twins working ninety-six identical machines," (Huxley 7) the cloning process in this book is only to make workers, the lower the cast system they are made (Gamma, Delta, Alpha, ext) the more degrading the work is. In modern times there is the likeliness that that future is not to far away. " companies to mass-produce identical copies of the best milk or meat producing animals for farmers."(Westphal 2) It might even be used for cloning human embryos," there are already planes to make cloning mass produced for animals. They plan to make mass copies of farm animals (since they can not clone humans yet) just to get the "best milk or meat producing animals.".
The society in Brave New World accepts cloning because they like where they are in their life. They don't want to be anything but what they are, " and Delta children were khaki.
