Descriptive essay

When it comes to starting college, there is a certain order you must follow. If you don't follow the four basic instructions, delays and confusion will most likely occur. Enrollment, applying for financial aid, placement testing, and registration must be completed in an accurate and timely manner to ensure a good start for college.
Enrolling is the first step in starting college. After obtaining and completing the enrollment application, you submit it to the college of choice and pay the enrollment fee. Usually this fee ranges from $35-$50. When done correctly, this process is only done once.
             .
The next step is filing for financial aid. This process can be completed by mail, internet, or telephone. This requires obtaining IRS tax returns and various other forms. After completing the paperwork for financial aid you are given a Personal Identification Number to check the status of you application. Financial aid is generally awarder six to eight weeks after the semester starts.
Third, you must take a Computerized Placement Test (CPT). You have to schedule a testing date and pay the appropriate fee. This test is given to see what skills need to be honed in order to properly place you in the corresponding classes. The areas you will be tested in are reading comprehension, sentence skills, elementary algebra, and so on. If you do not "pass" these tests, you are required to take the corresponding prerequisites before advancing in that particular field of learning.
Finally, you register for your classes. First time students do so at orientation and are assisted by school faculty to avoid mistakes. Returning students can register by internet or on campus. Registering for classes can be somewhat tricky, seats fill up quickly and students are sometimes left scrounging for seats in their necessary classes.
Starting college is an important step in advancing in your life. This can be a difficult step if done improperly.
