Human Evolution

These humans became innovators because of the way they could think presently because of the size of their brain. In most cases it is true that the bigger your brain is, the smarter you are. In early human evolution the brain was really small to what it is today.

The human skull has evolved significantly over the many millions of years. Homo habilis was identified as the handy man due to the vast amount of tools found near by their fossils. Their fossil remains shows that their brain size in the early fossils was about 500cc, In the later species it grew 800c (Jelinek, 1975,p.16). The Homo habilis had very thin cranial bones in the skull, also a very rounded skull shape a somewhat likely face. The teeth of the Homo habilis were small the premolars had two cusps, a thick tooth make up and a lightly built jaw. Homo erectus existed from approximately 1.8 million and 300,000 years ago (Huxley, 1959,p.122). Homo erectus had speech. The Erectus constructed fire, weapons as well as tools. The Erectus's face and had is the only difference from man today. The skull had very large jaws accompanied with molars; there were no chin apparent, bulky forehead ridges, and a very long low skull. The skull evolved thick cranial bones compared to Habilis, the skulls overall area expanded, their jaw devolved thicker and stronger bones. The skull of Homo Neanderthals experienced many changes as well, it developed thin cranial bones which is strange due to the fact that one period before they devolved thicker cranial bones (Calamai, Toronto Star sec A1.). A strong or firm built skull developed in the Homo Neanderthals. They also had a higher skull compared to the erectus but lower when compared to our skulls today also a large skull encasement the front part of the skull protruded outwards the nose bone was also large and stuck outwards.
