Domestic Violence


            
             Domestic violence is any emotional, physical or sexual abuse by a family member, often by a partner; this is not a private matter. People who hurt loved ones are not just bad husbands, boyfriends or girlfriends, they are criminals.
             In other words domestic violence includes: physical abuse such us slapping, hitting, burning, etc, sexual abuse, like rape, incest, emotional abuse, threats, insults, harassment, and neglect which means poor physical emotional care.
             Every family member suffers and often follows a vicious circle like, a husband abuses his wife and children, his wife takes out her frustration on children, too, and children who suffer or witness violence may abuse brothers and sisters or later, their own families.
             This problem harmed the lives of many groups of people in the U.S, because this is a problem that can affect, involve and occur to many people, anyone can be a victim. Victims of relationship abuse can be of any age and any in any type of relationship. They can be dating, living together, parenting a child together, married, divorced, or in a gay or lesbian relationship. They are from all social economic, racial, and ethnic groups. Victims can be your mom, your sister, your brother, your daughter, your son, or your friend. Anyone can be a victim of relationship abuse. Victims may suffer serious physical injury even death, Emotional harm, such as depression, loss of self-esteem, anxiety, feelings of helplessness and worthlessness, and also can have work problems, loss of job and income.
             Abusers just like victims can be anyone, so can abusers. They can be of any age, race, ethnic, or socioeconomic group. And they aren't always the person you are in a relationship with now, they can be someone from a prior relationship.
             Abusers may experience loss of self-esteem, leading to continued violence, legal problems such as, fines, and jail, possible violent revenge by victims, continued violence in their relationships, unless they seek help, and also can present work problems, loss of job and income.
