My favorite sport is definitely Baseball. Baseball is a sport in which two teams meet for a period of 9 innings score points by hitting a leather ball with a large bat and then successfully making it around 3 bases and finishing by running over the initial starting point. Baseball is allot more than just hitting a ball and running around bases, and that is what makes it so much fun to play. Baseball requires strategy and physical fitness to succeed at it. It takes one who can play as a team person and look out for more than just himself.
Baseball requires at least 9 players on the field at all times when on defense. There are 9 positions on the field. 1.Pitcher, 2.Catcher, 3.First Baseman, 4.Second Baseman, 5. Shortstop, 6.Third Baseman, 7.Left Fielder, 8.Center Fielder, and 9.Right Fielder. The goal is to get the opposing team out by catching a fly ball in the air or by catching them off of any of the bases and then tagging them with the ball. When at bat the goal is not just to hit the ball as hard as you can, it is to also hit it wherever there's an area that would be hard for the other team to reach before you get to a base. A home run is when you hit the ball hard enough that it clears the outfield wall without going out of bounds. Then you need to maneuver on the bases well enough to advance to home plate without getting tagged, as well as watching out for other base runners on your team. .
Now, the reason I like baseball is because there is more to it than just on the field. To me hardly anything beats the smell of popcorn and the sound of people cheering for you when you"re playing another team. The feeling of the bat hitting the ball can't be beat either, as well as the feeling of scoring a run, or pitching a strike or even a double play. Baseball is just the sport I love and that is the best, and easiest way for me to put it. Even to watch, I think that baseball is the best.
