             Many things had caught my attention when I first arrived to Canada, two years back. The country is large, the distance is greater, the cars are bigger and the people are wider. (if you want, you can elaborate such reaction & comparison in order to connect w/ below paragraph) .
             The number of people who are obese is rising rapidly throughout the world, making obesity one of the fastest developing public health problems. The World Health Organization has described the problem of obesity as a "worldwide epidemic". Nevertheless, North America has a particular high prevalence of obesity as compare to the other part of the world. According to Time magazine survey one half of North American population in overweight enough to be defined as obese. Doctors consider that this proportion is incredible, almost like an epidemic. Also, a variety of illnesses, including cancer, diabetes and heart diseases, are directly related to obesity and the medical costs are very expensive. .
             Obesity is a condition in which there is excess body fat. However, it is difficult to measure fat directly but it can be estimated by "correcting" body weight for height. Obesity is thus usually defined as having a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher. A BMI of 30, in most cases, means that an individual is about 30 pounds over their ideal weight. Obesity can also be classified according to where in the body the excess fat is stored. .
             It's usually the result of excessive accumulation of fat in the body that results mainly two types of effects, physical and psychological. Consumption of food energy is largely the outcome of eating disorder, physical inactiveness i.e. sedentary lifestyle and genetic plus some environmental factors. .
             "According to the saying of an ancient philosopher, one should eat to live, and not live to eat." Well, obese Americans live to eat and that obesity results from an imbalance between energy intake and energy expenditure.
