Illegal Immigration

The United States of America is known to be the land of the free. Although many people here may take their rights and this land for granted, others living in a more poverty-stricken see America as a land to fulfill their many hopes and dreams. Many people living in third-world countries migrate and come into the U.S. illegally in order to support themselves and their families. They want to come to this country in search of opportunities that their own counties lack. This may seem a bit reasonable, but with so many illegal immigrants coming into the United States every year, it is beginning to become a pretty serious problem. The main problems dealing with illegal immigration is that it will overpopulate the U.S. and that it will cause many problems and difficulties dealing with our society and economy. Our economy was a very prosperous one until the attack that took place on September 11, 2001. As of now, we are still trying to recover economically since the surprise attack.
Every year, the Border control makes more than one million apprehensions of people who were caught trying to sneak their way illegally across the U.S. borders. They do it because they know they will have a way better life in the U.S. that in their home countries. They will try to do whatever it takes to cross the borders in order to work and to receive public assistance, usually with the aid of fake documents documents. Coming into the country like that is a misdemeanor, and if it is repeated, it becomes punishable as a felony. Right now, over six million illegal immigrants live in the United States. This does not include the more than three million aliens living here under the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA). The problems along the southern borders are very severe, but manageable. Having more Border Patrol agents at the border is only a partial solution to the problem. Illegal immigration cannot be controlled only at the border.
