             It has been said that actions speak louder than words. Even though body language does not reveal all our innermost thoughts, it does not mean it is to be ignored. It plays a key role in human communication. The study of body language is not a new thing, they conceal emotions. Genuine smiles crinkle the eyes. Frowns can indicate not only sadness, but impatience or fear. Those who are feeling criticized often bite their lips. There are a few basic modes of body language. Responsive which includes being engaged, eager and ready to agree. Reflective includes listening and evaluating. How these modes are expressed are in posture and gestures varies from culture to culture. Basically, you must make sure verbal and nonverbal messages do not conflict. Knowing how to read body language is a useful communicational skill, and so is knowing how to use it.
             Speaking is body language. Punctuating sentences with the eyebrows. Everybody has watched someone talking on the phone, often without hearing a word they"re saying (such as when you see someone in a phone booth). You see a constant stream of smiles, frowns, raised eyebrows, shakes of the head, nods, and hand gestures.
             Do you find yourself wondering whether you really got all that was being said between the lines? If so, this would suggest how dependent we all are on watching a person's face and body language for clues that may be crucial to grasping what is really being said. Who hasn't had the experience at one time or another of misread body language. .
             Most of the time we spend talking and listening to someone, we"re watching their face either in person or on TV. We"re in constant close contact not only with the stream of speech but with the body language accompanying it. We"re almost always completely unaware of how many extra clues we"re getting to meanings and the speaker's true message from there body language.
             The message projected by the way one physically behaves, which consists of fifty-five percent of the messages sent and received by others.
