            The origins of carrom as we know are quite obscure. It is believed to have originated in india but the precise location is undetermined. Nevertheless Carron Board is today is amongst the worl's favourite board games, enjoyed by families and friends alike, regardless of the age. It is a worldwide sport that challenges your intellectual nature. Similar to billiards, marbles and air hockey, it is easy to understand, fun to play, and suitable for children alike. .
             Despite the fact, being classified as an indoor "board game", it is quites unique in itself. Neither like dice games such as Monopoly, nor like strategy games such as Chess, in fact, it is much more, involving a combination of both physical and mental elements.
             The game is played on one square, wooden board with four pockets and is played by flicking a corrom striker disc with one finger at the carrommean "goti". The goal is to collect points by sinking your nie pieces, plus the red queen piece, in the pockets before your opponet. The first one to do so becomes the champion and is ready to take on more and more ambitious players.
             In addition to your flicking fingers, the following hardware is required to play the worlwide game of carrom.
             Carrom Board is a square wooden board with a very smooth surface, a hard wood boder frame on all sides and small netted pockets in each corner. A thick and hard frame offers a strong rebound that provides added pace and fun to the game.
             Carrom Men are a set of nineteen light discs, nine white and nine black and one red ( ehihc is reffered to as the red queen).
             Striker is an acrylic disc (larger and heavier that the men) used to strike the men.
             Carrom Powder is a special fine powder sprayed on the board's surface to reduce friction and facilitate smoother play.
