File Security

Security has become a very important part of computing today. This is because of the growing numbers of computer hackers and viruses downloaded into computers. .
In the interest of the company I would introduce logins to the computer system. When the computer is booted a prompt will appear on the screen asking for a user ID and a user password. Now to give each member of the staff their own individual password will be an advantage because the company will know who is logged in, at what time and what they are doing. All files should also be saved with passwords, this will be to ensure confidentiality for all the clients and the company.
The security of data and files is important to the company and should be only available to employees. The information stored is of great value to you. So it must not be lost or stolen under any circumstances. The more important the information becomes, it will be important for your company to protect it from hardware or software failures, from criminals, in components and people who will miss use it. To prevent loss of files, the any company should keep back up copies of everything, or archiving them. This will allow the regeneration of the file if it has been lost or altered without permission.
It is more difficult to protect data than to protect it in the earlier systems of separate files. A file on tape usually has one owner and is accessed by one set of application programs. Data can be used for many different applications by many different people and may have no one clearly identified owner. The controls to prevent unauthorised access to data are therefore more intricate. The data systems which security precautions have been designed with care are usually more secure than their separate files before. .
Also the system should be secure against accidental or intentional attempts to alter data or files. Again this would involve using a password system and security procedures.
