New Age In America

Another New Age Religion is yoga meditation. There are many different types of yoga, which is a form of meditation. One of these is Sahaja yoga. Sahaja yoga means "spontaneous union". An inner transformation takes place through this meditation, by which one calms and balances good and evil within his soul and becomes united, integrated and moral. Almost all the spiritual traditions and religions of the world say that one can literally feel the "all-prevading divine power" as a cool breeze or the feeling of being refreshed. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi created this form of yoga in 1970. Shri was born to a Christian family in the Indian state of Maharashtra, on March 21, 1923. As a young girl she was thought to be immensely spiritual and incredibly bright. The very well known Gandhi even asked this young girl for advice! Shri created this form of yoga after she had already married and had given birth to children. What makes Sahaja yoga different from other types of yoga, is the fact that it begins with self awareness (a type of inner awakening). The goal of all religions and spiritual traditions from around the world, is the inner awakening. Other names are second birth, enlightenment, Satori, Moksha, and liberation. .
Another religion/belief that has to do with New Age, is the Pagan religion. Some say that the Pagans recruit people by promises or threats, however, this is not true. Pagans worship the earth and do not worship, or even acknowledge, the "devil" or "Satan". They do not desecrate any person, place or thing, nor do they practice "black arts" or magic.
Universal Oneness United is another form of New Age Religion, although some people say that it is more of an occult than a religion.
