September 11, 2001, will be remembered as one of the most horrible and unbelievable days ever experienced in the United States. The events of this day certainly affect every American, and likely affect every person in the world in some way. Our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack in a series of deadly terrorist acts. The victims were in airplanes or in their offices as secretaries, businessman and women, military and federal workers. Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by despicable acts of terror. After September 11th the fire fighters became heroes after demonstrating their patriotism and nobility towards their country. In the picture New York, September 11, 2001, shows firemen crying over the terrible terrorist attacks. Furthermore, they cry for the innocent lives that died that day. This picture portrays the firemen hugging each other, and giving themselves comfort so they can continue on their journey. As thousands of people were struggling to get out, they went into the buildings risking their own lives. They were not afraid to help those in need. Many of them survived, though not all did. Families of the firefighters have unforgettable memories of their loved ones, as the world looked up to them as heroes. Little boys will grow up with the motivation to save lives and be firefighters just like they were. But most of all they were heroes on September 11th, the day the world cried they were there to wipe our tears away, by giving us hope. Even though these pictures are black and white they still bring the message across. People can see that in the back there are more firefighters working. During this tragedy the country came even closer to each other. Days later after the attack Americans still were waiting to see if there were more survivors.
