Rock Music

The sound of rock music has progressively changed since the era of Elvis and the beetles; artists are becoming more creative and expressive with their music and paving the way for the future of rock. There are many rock bands out right now all of which have their own style and sound. To say that they all sound the same would be untrue. Every band his it's own way of expressing themselves. There are many ways to classify Rock. You can classify the music by what they sing about or how they sound. Or you can classify a band on how they look. I people who try and classify bands are just wasting their time because no band is going to fit into the same class, because each band is so different .
There is the mellow side of rock music like the band Incubus. Incubus steers away from the fast-passed hard hitting sound of rock to give a melodic and meaningful sound to the music while delivering the kind of hooky choruses and guitar riffs radio loves. Bands hate to categorize their music; they always say "what we do is unlike anything else." And that's not true. But it's true with Incubus. Incubus has a singer with an intelligent voice who writes great lyrics and has meaningful things to say. Brandon Boyd(lead singer) sings about love and heartbreak. Incubus's last album was around the time that Brandon had broken up with his girlfriend so a lot of the lyrics were about his break up. I think it is good to see a rock band showing emotions about love instead of emotions about hate and anger. For Incubus rebellion is not about pissing off your parents; it's about growing up without succumbing to adulthoods grind. A lot of bands are starting to step away from the screaming a!.
nd yelling you would expect from rock and dwelling into the mellower sound. .
Opposite of Incubus is the harder rock music like System Of A Down. System is a hard-rock band that unlike most sings about politics. There are not to many bands out who sing about politics and the problems with the world.
