Cheerleader

One year after I graduated from Denham Springs High School I was invited to the Homecoming football game. I went, and as watched the football team I could not help but notice all the new cheerleaders. I was once a cheerleader at Denham Springs High. It was very important to me. A cheerleader was who I was. I was always at practicing cheering, and if I was not practicing I was thinking about cheering. After being a cheerleader for twelve years one begins to notice the different types of cheerleaders. There are three main types: lazy, serious, and peppy. .
The lazy cheerleaders are the ones who are not stiff, and their voices are never heard due to the fact they just mouth the cheers. These girls never stunt because their ankles are too weak. Most have no facial expression, and do not care if the crowd is into the game. This cheerleader never practices outside of cheerleading practice. They never call the cheers, and in between cheers they just stand there instead of yelling we are #1 or kicking. These cheerleaders do not ever seem to be having fun, because they do not smile. For example, my friend made the cheerleading squad. She worked hard in tryouts, but after she made the squad she thought since she had already made it she did not have to work anymore.
The serious cheerleader is stiff, and always sticks her moves on the while cheering and when up in the air in stunt. These types of cheerleader are loud, but will rarely start a cheer by calling a cheer. It is obvious that they shout from their stomach and not their throat. These cheerleaders are more worried about doing moves correctly than having fun or getting the crowd fired up for the team. Most never have a smile on their face. These cheerleaders practice day and night. This type of cheerleader thinks that perfection is more important than anything else. For example, a friend I cheered with slipped while in stunt. She went home and practiced the stunt until it was so dark she could not see her hand in front of her face.
