Domestic Violence

Kevin spent most of Annie's pregnancy busy with school and working towards football scholarships. They were seldom able to see each other. Finally, they met to discuss their plans for their future and the baby. Kevin explained to Annie that his mother was completely disgusted with their situation. Since Kevin's father had such a bad temper she thought it would be best if they didn't tell him about the pregnancy. His mother also told Kevin to make sure he was the father of the baby. Once again, Kevin asked Annie if she cheated on him with Harold. Annie was completely hurt and defensive. Kevin became so enraged that he hit her head off the dashboard and began to choke her. Annie got out of the car as fast as she could and swore that she would never speak to him again. .
During her last trimester, Kevin sought out Annie's forgiveness. He promised he would never do anything to hurt her again. He showered her with compliments and assured her that he was the luckiest man in the world to be with her. Annie agreed to get back with him. A few weeks later their baby girl, Mary was born. They decided to get married. Kevin rushed her out of the reception and they went off on their weekend honeymoon while a neighbor watched Mary. Shortly after, Kevin moved in with Annie at her father's house. They began to discuss Kevin's schooling. Because Kevin was such an amazing athlete, a lot of schools offered him scholarships. He picked a school in Texas, far away from their family and friends. His decision was final so they packed up and moved to Texas as a family.
Almost instantly, the abuse became worse. Kevin did not allow Annie to work or go to school. According to him, her job was to be a good wife and raise their child at home. There were many instances of physical abuse. It became so bad that the police went to their apartment. The verbal abuse was constant and Kevin wanted sex almost every night.
