He kept the ones that were still in good condition. This was the only possibility for him to get his money back from insurance. With situations like this happening, laws begin to be informed. The Boben's Act of 1788 set limits on amount of slaves aloud on the boat. From 1788 to 1807 law against slavery was established every year. As profitability started to decline the Europeans began to lose interest and look at other business opportunities. Since it was costly for African countries as well, they slowed the trading of slaves. As the 1800's rolled around the enlightenment stopped countries to continue slavery. The slave movement was a great impact on European countries in the fact that they became even more powerful from all the money profited. Over in the U.S. farmers were wanting more and more slaves to work on the large plantations. The problem was keeping them all together and not letting them escape to the north. Since the northern parts of the U.S. wanted to free slaves they designed movements to free them. Simple tactics of keeping them safe like cellars in the basements of homes. This became a controversy between the north and south, which evolved into the civil war in 1861. Abraham Lincoln who was running for President at the time decided you had to go one way or the other and wanted to stop slavery. The votes went his way but the south still didn't agree. They didn't have the power to overrule so the 13th amendment declared slaves to be free. .
             I agree that The Europeans are responsible for being in charge of the trade but Africa had the opportunity to disregard the whole thing as well. As " The Global Experience," tells us stories of long journeys and events. They can become very graphic and a feeling of remorse for such terrible events. Escaping was the only thing on a slaves mind once they were taken away from there freedom in there native country. The trading in Africa was done on the coastal countries at first but made its way into the main land.
