Innovation

            Innovation, what is it? Innnovation to me is finding something of value to society through research that ultimatley sovles a present or unknown problem and changes the way one might have prevously percieved teh problem. With this stated, innovation is ultimatley the reason why we can be thankful for the many new conviences of the 21st century. Although we might see the forefront of innovation being very prominent i n today world, innovation is truly nothing new.
             Throughout the last decade innovation has been the life line to development of great new products and a better standard of living. These products have ranged from the development of the internet to more simple products such as the mach 3 razor. In one way or the other these products have changed the way we ultimately live and operate. As simple as it might intially sound, the development of the mach 3 razor has changed many lives. Why is this? This is because its has provided many people with a product that works excepetionally good, while making the everyday shave more efficient and economical. This may not be a big deal to some, but for others it could be differnce of meeting that someone special or getting a second interview for job, either or a big deal for the consumer. One might ask why a consumer might purchase the product rather than a ten pack of disposalable razor. The answer being that through innovation gillete has been able to produce a product a that solves a problem for its consumer, ultamately resulting in great profits.
             While the mach 3 and the internet, for some reason or the other seem to be new products that specfically stand out in my mind , there are many others out there. DVD's are another example of a good product. DVD have provided a product for consumers that virtaully lets you have almost any option while watching a movie. Every person has his or her favorite scene within a movie and now theres no more rewinding and fastforwarding to find that scene.
