             INTRODUCTION: What is a quick and easy dinner to pull together in ten minutes or less? Chili. Sounds good doesn't it? Here is a guide to tell you how to make your own bowl of homemade chili.

             A. ORIGIN: One of the few facts known about the birth of chili is that it did not originate in Mexico. Over two hundred years ago, supposedly in San Antonio, Texas, chili made its debut. This hearty meal had enough substance to fill and energize the active cowboy. While tasting good enough and easy to prepare without being an exhausting meal to make at the end of a long day. As these cowboys moved further onto North America on cattle drives, they shared this exciting culinary discovery with new people of all kinds from cities all over. .
             B. CHILI AND THE GREAT DEPRESSION: Once the Great Depression struck the country, small restaurants and families discovered that chili's ingredients were inexpensive and filled the stomachs of the whole family becoming a craze everywhere.
             As we came out of the depression, chili became more exotic and contained flashier and more robust spices. Thus, mixing together to help to create the many different styles and flavors of chili today.
