Irene like others have been taught to look so hard for any flaws that after a while that's all they see. At one point she's even hesitant to approach Jerome (Vincent) because she finds out that he's almost perfect. She goes up to him and gives him a strand of her hair as a way of telling him before he befriends her that he might not want to because of her heart condition.
             While Jude Laws" character Jerome Morrow was also part of the genetically superior beings he was even considered "next to godliness" The problem with Jerome Morrow was that even though genetics said he "would have a heart of an ox and an almost perfect gene structure of a 9.3".
