Why: I believe that the son was sang to God to give him the glory and praise that Mary felt that he so much deserved. Research: In research, I found that the Song of Mary is considered a magnificent hymn. In Latin Vulgate translation the opening word is Magnificent which stands for the word glorifies. The Song is much like praise from the start and in a way is but is still considered a hymn. Mary says that "My soul glorifies the Lord", which in a sense shows the faith and devotion that she has in the lord. God says that his love and mercy extend to those who fear him. In the passage fear is meant to mean those who revere God and live with him in their minds and souls. .
