Motivation

Managers can also motivate employees by making them feel good about themselves. Employees are much easier to influence when they feel appreciated, respected, and needed. Therefore, managers can go a long way with employees by simply doing things like saying thank you for a job well done, issuing instructions in a tactful manner, or asking for their opinion when employees are treated this way, they will show their appreciation by being a lot more productive.
             c) Realize what goes around, comes around.
Every action a manager takes when dealing with an employee eventually has an effect on employee performance. Employees directly or indirectly take from or give to the organization when a manager takes from or gives anything to employees. Every choice we make in life is like throwing a boomerang. We always get back what we send out.
             d) Issue instructions in a respectful manner. .
Employees react very differently to instructions depending on whether the meaning is perceived as respectful or disrespectful. Employees will take a much more positive approach to the task if the instructions is given in a tactful manner. Therefore, when managers issue instructions they should ask, "could you please do this?" rather than giving a direct order like "you must do this". The manager should then follow up by saying "thank you" or "I appreciate it". This approach subtly makes people feel important, needed, and respected. When employees are made to feel that way, they will show their appreciation by being much more productive.
             e) Listen to employees. .
Employees are able to voice concerns and deal with them before they become lingering problems. They also feel valued which raises productivity and lowers turnover. In addition, the manager will have a firm grasp on how everybody feels. Lastly, once employees feel they have been heard, they become much more attentive and responsive to concerns the manager has. Employees know more about their jobs than anyone else, but they are usually the last ones to be asked how things could be done better.
