Nurturing

.
Nurturing to each other's needs is an everyday example of how the need to be nurtured is filled. When people compliment each other or even make fun of each other, this fills the basic need to be accepted. They are nurturing by either building each others confidence or by tearing it down. This need for acceptance and positive nurturing can lead to drastic changes in the way someone lives. By having this much power over the way a person lives their life, we can not afford to underestimate the effect we have on people around us (Taylor).
The very hardwiring in our heads, our brain, lead us to a natural need for nurturing. Our neuro-circuitry contains the programming for nurturing just as it does the need for food and shelter. It is an instinct that has been observed in many different species from the earliest stages in life. A child has a need for nurturing and attention as much if not more than for food and clean diapers. It builds a foundation that the child will draw from for the rest of its life. Lack of early childhood nurturing has been found to be the cause of the majority of social problems in middle or late life. Many psychologists have linked murderous behavior to insufficient early childhood development. By guiding a child in his/her early childhood, you can better prepare him/her for future stresses that could have otherwise been overwhelming. Some of this earliest form of nurturing can never be undone or changed. .
Lower levels of stress can occur when people are being adequately nurtured. Higher stress levels are often found in people who do not receive enough nurturing. They are not as prepared for sudden changes as the ones who are well nurtured and cared for. These high levels of stress can cause health risks such as heart disease, cancer, strokes, and accidents. These risks are significantly lowered when an individual comes from a nurturing family relationship.
