I also have how many people out of the twenty surveyed participated in each activity as well as the percentage of people that participate in each activity. Some people have participated in more than one activity. This is why the percentages add up to more than 100%. The three activities with the largest percent of participants were walking (25%), boating (20%), and golfing (15%).

             Next I looked at the number of times per year each person participated in each activity. I also calculated the participation rate for each activity. This information is summarized in the table below. The total amount of times that the twenty people surveyed participated in outdoor recreational activities was 500. The three activities with the highest participation rates are walking (30%), golfing (17%), and running (16%). The participation rate for overall outdoor activities and the participation rate for each individual activity were about the same. For example 15% of the 20 people surveyed reported playing golf while the participation rate for this activity was 17%. This held true with most of the activities except for skiing, boating, camping, and visiting parks. More people reported that they have been boating in the past year than any other activity except for walking, but boating had one of the lowest participation rates. I don't know if there is any significance to this but I thought it was interesting .
