The Matrix Ideas/Themes

The Matrix by Larry and Andy Wychowski comes across the idea of control vs. The idea poses questions such as: Are you in control of your life? If not, who is? .
The Matrix is a computer generated world where machines fed humans dreams through cables and wires. The machines are in control. Neo, the main character is anti-authoritarian. He doesn't believe in fate or destiny. He found it hard to believe that he wasn't in control of his life while inside the Matrix. When the oracle propehsized his future, he was adamant. If what the oracle says is true, is there another force out there that determines his fate? Before hand, Neo knocked the vase over, after the oracle told him not to worry about breaking the vase. Neo was curious, but the oracle said, :Would you have knowcked the vase over if I didn't tell you?" Do we really have control over our actions?.
The Matrix indirectly relates to us. WE live in a world which is ruled by religion, beliefs and even the fovernment. We are told what and what not to do. WE think we are free but really we aren't. We are conrolled by rules and regulations we have to follow. When Morpheus was describing the Matrix, he said it was all around us - when we go to work, go t churches and even when we pay or taxes. We are told to do these therefore we do them.
The theme of control vs. freedom posed a lot of questions. It was interesting to see the outcomes of the questions, Are we in control or is there a greater force which determines our fate?.
