The first amendment states the congress can not make any laws respecting a religion. Everyone has the right to pick his or her own religion. The government is not allowed to tell the people that they have to all picks the same religion. The amendment also talks about the freedom of speech and/or the press. The sixth amendment is about the court proceedings. Everybody that is arrested in the United States has the right to a fair and speedy trial. It shall be held in the State and district of where the crime was committed. What if we never had this? We might have to go to California for a court hearing. That would be horrible. We all also have a right to counsel. This is good because if we all had to represent ourselves we would probably lose quite greatly.

The third amendment talks about the quartering of soldiers in your home. This amendment says that soldiers can not be forced to stay in your house during a time of peace or during a time of war. Before this amendment was implaced soldiers would have to stay with homeowners against the homeowners wishes. The people didn’t like to have the soldiers invading their lives. Finally congress passed this amendment disabling the soldiers from staying with people in their homes. People were relieved with this amendment.

The second amendment is about the militia and the right to bear arms. We will always need the National Guard in case of any state disasters. We need to be able to keep on running well and trained. If we don’t keep up a good Guard
