Often in the heat of the moment it is forgotten just how important communication is. When there is conflict people often will be so set on expressing their opinion that they don't listen. When conflict arose in our group there was a distinct lack of communication. Rather than discussing what problem may have arose they keep to themselves and let it fester. Often it was to the point that frustration would cause us to not want to bother with communication. Communication is the root of all function. When communication breaks down the whole structure of a group breaks as well. We have found that despite the lack of communication the work still has been completed. .
During the time we spent together there has been many issues that arose around centered in communication. While trying to reach each there have often been obstacles to impede that. For example a couple of the group members have changed jobs, others have moved, and still others have had e-mail issues.
Even when we are able to reach each other there has been an issue with communication itself. Because we are all from such different backgrounds it has been a challenge finding a way to speak to each other without offending one another, as well as how to effectively get our points across. .
Conflict has often arose as it will with any group. The problem that we have found is that the conflict never seems to get resolved, rather we work around. In the work setting when conflicts arise you are forced to work around them as well. We often would apply what we have learned in the work setting to our group situation. .
We have learned much from each other. Some of our group members have learned how to be patient, and others much on different topics. Because some of the group members were better in some subjects then others we were able to learn much more about different topics then if we were not in groups. As the program knows, because of its structure, people learn a lot from teaching one another.
