Of mice and men
In Of Mice and Men the novel by John Steinbeck their are numerous examples of loneliness. Many of the people in the novel are searching desperately for companionship. Many of the people in the book are jealous of George and Lennie in my opinion. They are jealous of the fact that these two men have each other to rely on. The first and perhaps most prominent person that needs companionship is Curley's Wife who has absolutely no one to talk to. She is the only woman on the ranch she is the subject of numerous snide remarks from the men who work there, because she flirts to obtain attention, and shes married to someone she doesn't even like. Its kind of hard not to feel sorry fo her.
